Field Operations Manger

The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, a dedicated work ethic, and a positive attitude to lead the daily operations and performance of the terminal.
This role involves driving terminal performance through hands-on leadership and strategic planning, while also fostering employee engagement.

Collaborate with other departments and terminals to optimize equipment and freight movement, maximizing usage while minimizing costs.
Oversee daily operations, ensuring that performance, quality, and service standards are met. This includes monitoring dock cleanliness, ensuring timely deliveries, and reviewing equipment needs to meet customer demands.
Manage employee relationships and performance within the terminal, creating an environment of trust, open communication, and accountability.
Prepare reports on key metrics such as performance, freight damage, accidents, customer interactions, and employee performance to support decision-making.
Work with senior management and dispatch to forecast equipment and staffing needs based on customer demand and operational volumes.
Ensure compliance with safety, training, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Strong team-building skills with a focus on creating a stable and trusting environment.
Excellent time management, multitasking, and deadline-driven abilities.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Experience with the TruckMate system is considered an asset.

Fast-paced terminal/office environment.
Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
High volume of communication via email and phone.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, or a related field, with relevant education such as CITT Supply Chain and Logistics Certification, or equivalent.
Knowledge of the road transportation industry, particularly Atlantic Canadian geography and travel times, is considered an asset.
