Watson Goepel LLP is a full-service downtown Vancouver firm serving clients for over 35 years. We have an immediate opening for an experienced, full-time associate with 2-4+ years of litigation and dispute resolution experience.

We provide a professional and collegial work environment with excellent associate mentorship opportunities. The position will involve working on a variety of litigation matters including insolvency and restructuring matters, corporate litigation disputes, and real property disputes. The position will primarily involve drafting pleadings, research and strategy, chamber applications, preparation for and attendance at trial, discoveries, appeals, arbitrations, and mediations.

With an emphasis on collaboration, we hold weekly practice group meetings to ensure our lawyers remain connected and supported by their team as they develop their individual practices. The size of our firm provides the administrative infrastructure required to support our lawyers’ busy practices, while still providing the best aspects of small firm culture.

Requirements
A JD/LLB and Member of the Law Society of British Columbia
2+ years of commercial litigation experience
Extremely detail oriented, ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem solving
Strong organizational and project management skills
Self-directed, able to take the lead on files
Sound judgment and ability to understand their client’s perspective
Deadline driven, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Salary
We are on a lockstep compensation model for years 1-5.
