About the role:

Reporting to the C.F.O, and in collaboration with the Executive team, the Director of Finance & Accounting will provide vital financial support to the management of all dealerships in the group.

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Daily review of operating results from all businesses and divisions.
  • Daily review and management of overall cash positions.
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual calculations of all financial covenants.
  • Submissions of financial reports and covenants to Financial Institutions and Manufacturers and adherence to all financial reporting requirements.
  • Preparation of multiple holding company financial statements and correspondence with third party auditors.
  • Preparation of dealership forecasts in collaboration with General Managers and all other department managers.
  • Maintain relationships with all financial institutions, and manage the annual reviews of all credit facilities.
  • Maintain relationships with all manufacturers and their financial captives.
  • Preparation of annual garage policy insurance application and correspondence with insurance company and broker
  • Overseeing and managing all insurance claims including vehicle theft, accidents, hail damage, and building damage, and correspondence with insurance company and broker related to all claims.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources and daily communication with HR Director and staff.
  • Overseeing the Employee Benefits plan and annual renewal
  • Review and understanding of the company Pension Plan
  • Liaison with I.T. department on a weekly basis and participate in discussions related to I.T. infrastructure
  • Daily meetings with the Corporate Controller and accounting staff, and understanding of day-to-day accounting and year end reporting.
  • Review, and provide input into the development of employee compensation plans.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of Accounting experience
  • Accounting designation preferred (CPA, C.A., CMA, CGA)
  • Knowledge of automotive business is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets on an ongoing basis.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 360
  • Knowledge of Simply Accounting is an asset
