Executive Director - Regional and Specialist Services

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH), a large networked urban Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation, was established by its founding members in 2009 to provide a coordinated and integrated approach to the planning, development, and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within South East Queensland.

About the Role:

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting directly to the IUIH Chief Executive Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing IUIH’s regional service delivery obligations, including specialist services, a broad range of allied health services, comprehensive primary care, oral health services, family health and wellbeing services, and mental health and addiction services.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate leadership, promoting a culture of integrity, integration, collaboration and respect.
  • Support the work of the CEO and IUIH Executive in advancing the broader strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • Oversee operations of the Regional and Specialist Services Business Unit, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources; robust governance of healthcare quality and safety; and commitment to the direction provided by our clients, families and community.
  • Oversee the planning, development, revision, and refinement of business unit budgets, and ensure operations are delivered efficiently and effectively within budget.
  • Actively support the growth and development of a skilled, knowledgeable and responsive workforce, with appropriate delegation to manage their areas of responsibility and expertise.

About You:

  • Purpose and values-driven approach, with a commitment to the principles and practice of Aboriginal community control.
  • Experience leading and implementing large-scale health and related service initiatives.
  • High level management experience working within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health sector, or in a comparable not for profit, government or private sector organization.
