At VIA HFR, we are re-imagining passenger rail service on behalf of the Government of Canada Our goal is to create a new sustainable train network that that will run faster, more often and will be more reliable between Toronto and Québec City.

Are you ready to take on a stimulating and impactful challenge? Look no further: VIA HFR is looking for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner.

The role

Reporting to the HRP & OD Manager, the ideal candidate contributes to the development of the human resources function at VIA HFR. Through their expertise and understanding of business realities, they guide HR priorities and influence the deployment of HR processes, policies, and programs.


The responsibilities

  • Support managers on all issues impacting business groups through strategic advice and coaching.
  • Assist managers in labor relations, leadership development, performance management, talent management, change management and employee relations.
  • Support managers in defining their workforce requirements for the various phases of the Project.
  • Ensure that HR initiatives support organizational needs.


The requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources management, industrial relations, or related discipline.
  • Solid experience of at least 10 years in a human resource consulting role.
  • Member of the Ordre des CRHA (an asset).
  • Ability to analyze business issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to influence management teams and proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Proven ability to execute quickly, efficiently, deliver consistently and be able to prioritize and manage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
  • High level of autonomy and ability to navigate ambiguous situations.
