Summary of Position

The Ground Transportation Procurement Manager will provide leadership and management of the outsourced ground transportation processes to ensure the efficient and economical use of common carriers for the Triumph Ground Logistics division. Manages various processes such as carrier negotiations, pricing, including carrier performance, SLA’s, etc.

Job Duties

  • Oversee and coordinate the structure of outsourced transportation procurement for all the branches and warehouse for Triumph Logistics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Carriers in the Parcel, LTL, TL and IM services.
  • Develop and implement freight cost analysis reports.
  • Develop pricing and SOW for contract specific customers together with the Sales representative.
  • Develop a carrier performance and compliance program.
  • Select, negotiate, and manage a network of carriers to meet the needs of the Triumph customers.
  • Support and act as the subject matter expert in business development engagements.

Requirements

  • Diploma in business/ marketing/ supply chain OR equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in logistics.
  • Good Understanding of the North American transportation industry including TL, LTL (domestic and cross border), intermodal and parcel services.
  • Experience in the parcel and LTL and 3PL industry preferred.
  • Experience in supporting solution-based transportation solutions (Good understanding of order processing, packaging, mode selection, visibility, IT)
  • Understanding of warehousing and distribution processes.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e.: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work with and support all team members, management, and shareholders.

The ideal candidate for this role needs to feel comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. You must be able to effectively liaise internally with team members as well as with outside stakeholders when necessary.
