Job Description

Salary Range - $

As the Profit Centre Manager, you will develop and lead all business operations at the Profit Centre. You will be accountable for growing the business while sustaining consistent profitability.

Additional duties will include:
  1. Achieve sales, gross profit- and profit-sharing goals through the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management of the Profit Centre Team
  2. Determine targeted customer account potential, establish sales goals for those accounts and hold the sales team accountable for achieving those goals
  3. Analyze available financial reports and information; develop and implement appropriate strategies to increase sales and margins, improve productivity and manage assets and expenses
  4. Build relationships in the community to understand the marketplace, increase market share and identify new markets
  5. Ensure the Profit Centre meets or exceeds service expectations of customers
  6. Take ownership of all marketing plans and purchasing agreements
  7. Understand and follow all safety regulations at all customer locations as well as at the Profit Centre
  8. Safeguard and maintain all Profit Centre assets – buildings, trucks, equipment, inventory, and receivables
  9. Perform other tasks as requested by the Regional Manager or President
Qualifications
  1. College and/or University degree
  2. A minimum of 3 years of wholesale distribution experience
  3. A minimum of 2 years in a management or leadership role
  4. Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  5. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  6. Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
  7. Driven to succeed with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
  8. Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to make sound business judgments
  9. Create and nurture a positive team environment, inspiring all teammates to do their best work and to achieve the highest levels of customer and teammate satisfaction
  10. Strong desire to strive for operational excellence
  11. Understand purchasing and inventory control processes
  12. Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  13. Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment
Preferred Skills:
  1. Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre
  2. Knowledge of the construction industry
  3. Experience using Trend and Eclipse
