Position Overview

As the Business Operations Manager, you will spearhead and oversee all operational activities at the Profit Centre. Your primary responsibility will be to drive business growth while ensuring sustained profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales, gross profit, and profit-sharing objectives through the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management of the Profit Centre Team.
  • Identify potential customer accounts, set sales targets for those accounts, and hold the sales team accountable for meeting those targets.
  • Analyze financial reports and data; devise and implement strategies to enhance sales and margins, boost productivity, and manage assets and expenses effectively.
  • Build community relationships to gain insights into the marketplace, expand market share, and identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure the Profit Centre consistently meets or surpasses customer service expectations.
  • Take charge of all marketing initiatives and purchasing agreements.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations at customer locations and within the Profit Centre.
  • Safeguard and maintain all Profit Centre assets, including buildings, vehicles, equipment, inventory, and receivables.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Regional Manager or President.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in wholesale distribution.
  • At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong work ethic and high integrity standards.
  • Driven by success with a robust entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to foster a positive team environment, motivating all team members to excel and achieve high levels of customer and teammate satisfaction.
  • Strong commitment to operational excellence.
  • Understanding of purchasing and inventory management processes.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the software systems used for order processing.
  • Capability to operate material handling equipment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry.
  • Experience with Trend and Eclipse software.
