JOB DESCRIPTION – Chef de Partie


As a Chef de Partie in our restaurant, you will play a key role in our culinary team, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare and present high-quality dishes with precision and creativity. Your passion for culinary arts, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our kitchen.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Culinary Expertise:
  • Prepare and present dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled with care.
  • Execute cooking techniques with precision, paying attention to taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Section Management:
  • Take ownership of a specific section of the kitchen, such as sauces, grill, or pastry.
  • Coordinate and supervise the preparation and production of dishes in your section.
  • Monitor the quality, consistency, and timeliness of dishes coming from your section.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team, including the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other chefs de partie, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
  • Assist and support fellow chefs, promoting teamwork and maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Quality Control and Food Safety:
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients.
  • Conduct regular inspections of ingredients, equipment, and workstations, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Monitor portion sizes, food quality, and presentation to meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Training and Development:
  • Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, sharing your culinary knowledge and skills.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and new ingredients to continuously enhance your culinary expertise.
  • Embrace opportunities for professional growth and development, attending workshops or culinary events.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or relevant role in a high-end restaurant or culinary establishment.
  • Michelin star rated restaurant experience is highly desired.
  • Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of various cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, always ensuring compliance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.


Benefits:


· $45,000 per annum

· Health and dental insurance

· Cash tips every two weeks

· Meals on duty provided

· Uniform provided

· Two guaranteed, consecutive days off per week

· Two holiday period closures per year, 3 weeks in January and 1 week in September
