An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a Branch Manager. You would be responsible for directing, maintaining, and controlling the branch location. Monitoring policies and procedures and making recommendations through consultation with the Operations Manager/Director of Sales and department heads. Monitoring daily performance objectives and making decisions to ensure branch objectives are met. Participating in establishing and maintaining the goals and objectives set for the branch. Developing quality team members as well as a solid customer base. Managing and encouraging optimal performance of all direct reports, including training and ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing guidance, direction and monitoring of internal staff, ensuring departments are working effectively towards common goals.
  2. Participating in and/or recommending product training.
  3. Growing sales through developing, coaching and motivating sales and support teams.
  4. Maintaining inventory levels at optimum.
  5. Ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained as per the required Branch Operational Scorecard level.
  6. Assisting with Warehouse and physical plant planning.
  7. Vendor relations and planning.
  8. Strategic and future management planning.
  9. Developing key relationships with customers including frequent on-site visits for sales and technical support (if applicable).
  10. Determining sales projections for fiscal year and tracking progress.
  11. Conducting weekly sales meetings.
  12. Representing the Company to the local and industry community.
  13. Reading, understanding, and following Vallen's health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations.
  14. Actively participating in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections.
  15. Identifying, controlling, and reporting workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses.
  16. Reporting workplace injuries immediately and participating in any return-to-work programs or requirements.
  17. Being fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  1. College/University Diploma required (Business, and/or Sales & Marketing, or Technical focus preferred).
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  3. Minimum 5-7 years of related experience, preferable in a Sales/Distribution environment. Previous Management experience required.
  4. The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a very fast paced environment.
