Venor is proud to partner with our client in their search for an Operations Manager for their manufacturing facility in Fredericton, NB.

Reporting to the President ; the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role on the senior management team as the technical expert and leader of fabrication shop activities. The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the fabrication shop, ensuring efficient execution of projects through effective production scheduling, resource allocation, safety compliance, and quality control.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the management team to establish and execute production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing resources.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance shop efficiency.
  • Develop and implement a training plan for employees to enhance their skill levels and capabilities.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality products.
  • Work with the management team to address quality issues and continuously improve quality standards.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Identify areas for improvement on the shop floor and work with employees and management to implement improvement ideas.
  • Collaborate with project management and finance to streamline workflows and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor shop floor staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

As an ideal candidate you will have 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze production metrics and implement effective improvement strategies. Experience in training and development of technical staff. Strong organizational and resource management skills. Commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
