Project Director

In this varied role, you will have the overall big picture view of full closure project. You will use your extensive project management skills to lead multi-disciplinary teams and you will demonstrate your leadership skills by leading and directing the Company owners team through various studies in preparation for closure.
More specifically, you will be expected to:
- Be the main facilitator of critical activities between different departments within Kidd Operations, as well as with other key internal stakeholders such as the Capital Management Framework (CMF) Governance team, North American Closed Sites team (NACS), Legal, etc.);
- Oversee the coordination of the site team with respect to the multifaceted Glencore Closure framework;
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Project Team Members to create a collaborative and performing work environment;
- Be the primary Lead on external communications with communities, first nations, government, and regulators;
- Promote IRS and ensure health, safety, environment, and community (HSEC) standards for Kidd Creek employees and Contractors are met;
- Report study and project progress to Head of Studies and Steering Committees;
- Manage project approval protocols;
- Handle the supervision and control of risk documentation associated with projects and studies.
Do you have what it takes?
- You have completed tertiary education in Engineering; (metallurgical or process, or mechanical, electrical, civil).
- Proven experience in project management. PMP certification will be highly regarded.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mine projects (concept, pre-feasibility and feasibility);
- Solid experience in financial and cost modelling;
- Proven competence in steering group efforts and shaping decisions to realize business results;
- Experience managing and developing various stakeholder relationships as well as coordinating and leading internal teams;
- Current knowledge of best practices and strong focus on continuous improvement;
- Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and present information in a concise manner;
- Takes initiative, focuses on solving problems and values teamwork;
- Good organizational and time management skills to efficiently work across multiple projects.
Language: English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
Location: Site-based in Timmins, Ontario.
Travel: In this role, you will be expected to travel domestically/internationally 5-10% of the time.
