About the Role

This is a challenging and varied role that requires a strong project management background and leadership skills. As the Project Director, you will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing the coordination of site teams with respect to the Glencore Closure framework.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate Critical Activities: You will be the main facilitator of critical activities between different departments within Kidd Operations, as well as with other key internal stakeholders.
  2. Coordinate Site Teams: You will oversee the coordination of the site team with respect to the multifaceted Glencore Closure framework.
  3. Provide Guidance and Support: You will provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Project Team Members to create a collaborative and performing work environment.
  4. Lead External Communications: You will be the primary Lead on external communications with communities, first nations, government, and regulators.
  5. Promote HSEC Standards: You will promote IRS and ensure health, safety, environment, and community (HSEC) standards for Kidd Creek employees and Contractors are met.
  6. Report Progress: You will report study and project progress to Head of Studies and Steering Committees.
  7. Manage Project Approval Protocols: You will manage project approval protocols.
  8. Supervise Risk Documentation: You will handle the supervision and control of risk documentation associated with projects and studies.
Requirements
  1. Tertiary Education: You have completed tertiary education in Engineering (metallurgical or process, mechanical, electrical, civil).
  2. Project Management Experience: You have proven experience in project management. PMP certification will be highly regarded.
  3. Mine Project Experience: You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in mine projects (concept, pre-feasibility, and feasibility).
  4. Financial and Cost Modelling: You have solid experience in financial and cost modelling.
  5. Steering Group Experience: You have proven competence in steering group efforts and shaping decisions to realize business results.
  6. Stakeholder Relationships: You have experience managing and developing various stakeholder relationships as well as coordinating and leading internal teams.
  7. Continuous Improvement: You have current knowledge of best practices and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  8. Communication Skills: You have the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and present information in a concise manner.
  9. Problem-Solving Skills: You take initiative, focus on solving problems, and value teamwork.
  10. Organizational Skills: You have good organizational and time management skills to efficiently work across multiple projects.
Language and Location

The language of this role is English. Knowledge of French is an asset. The location of this role is site-based in Timmins, Ontario.

Travel Requirements

In this role, you will be expected to travel domestically/internationally 5-10% of the time.
