Duration:6 months

Our client a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for aBusiness Systems Analysttobe responsible for business analysis activities on medium to large size projects utilizing Agile best practices and frameworks.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:
  • Effectively evaluate customers’ need and business process. Translate, communicate and document requirements and solution specifications.
  • Map data files and processes.
  • Document and communicate workflow through Process Flow diagrams (e.g. create Process Flow diagrams, integration diagrams, systems context diagrams etc).
  • Communicate solution specifications and requirements to the customer and implementation team.
  • Investigate production issues to determine root cause through data analysis and through collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering session and collaborate with clients through prioritization, support the decision making process through in-depth analysis and arrive at a consensus to reach sign-off.
  • Review and execute test scenarios and test cases to ensure the solution meets desired quality.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Financial Services on medium to large projects using either Iterative Waterfall or Agile methodologies
  • The ability to work independently and/or collaborate within a team, with internal departments or suppliers and build partnerships with stakeholders
  • Clear understanding of Capital Market products (both exchange traded and over the counter)
  • Must have understanding of Trade Life Cycle and Order Management Systems.
  • Several years’ experience in enterprise software implementation or Software as a service (SaaS) implementation projects.
  • Experienced in analyzing and documenting business processes, business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring clarity to business processes that may not be well understood by customers themselves.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • Working background/experience with the major business segments of the bank, preferably in an Analyst capacity
  • Knowledge of US regulatory reporting
  • Big data experience
  • Ability to write simple to complex SQL queries using joins, subqueries etc
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting
  • Experience implementing process / data controls
  • Experience with agile methodology
