SENIOR DIRECTOR OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

As we grow and expand our services, a great opportunity exists The Senior Director of Housing and Property Management leads the Housing program that helps individuals move out of homelessness and into a safe and healthy place of their own. In alignment with The Mustard Seed’s mission, this role will oversee all housing units (approximately 700) in all cities where The Mustard Seed has housing. The Housing Team works with formerly homeless individuals and supports them in building skills and support necessary to sustain long-term housing, while helping them transition into the local community. The Housing Team works collaboratively and in partnership with other Mustard Seed program areas and other agencies to achieve this end.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a strong working relationship with all Senior Directors to drive the organization forward
  • Collaborate with other Senior Directors and community partners in coordinating and facilitating program planning that reflects the mission and strategic direction of the organization
  • Develop an effective working relationship with the Chief Executive team
  • Supervise, coach and support Housing Managers and ensure all housing programs are delivered with excellence
  • Work with managers to establish goals and meet the housing sector’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Conduct research on trends for current and future program development
  • Provide vision, plan, and implementation for growth in the scope and programs of TMS housing
  • Establish a healthy relationship with and be the primary liaison with all housing funders
  • Engage with stakeholders regarding housing
  • Connect with all levels of government for funding and sector needs
  • Drive and implement best practices

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Related bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing staff, supervisors of staff, and seven-figure budgets
  • Demonstrated effectiveness and experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a not-for-profit or social enterprise environment
  • Experience in strategic planning, program evaluation, and program development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, public relations, and group facilitation skills required
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage crises
  • Proven ability to network and build strategic partnerships
  • Affirm and agree to not detract with The Mustard Seed Statement of Faith and demonstrate a commitment to lead in a Christian faith-based organization

The Senior Director of Housing and Property Management works in a normal office environment; however, work may require frequent weekend and evening work, attend various functions. The position requires frequent travel.
