This role primarily focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive addiction support and recovery programs in collaboration with Adult & Teen Challenge and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Duties And Responsibilities: Note: This is not a complete list of this position’s duties and responsibilities. The items below are examples of the types of activities performed. Other duties may be assigned.Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Fundraising: Daily fundraising efforts to substantially drive the growth and development of local ministry programs, alongside managing administrative duties, contributing to strategic planning, and enhancing communication strategies.
  2. Event’s Support: Leads targeted fundraising efforts for Adult & Teen Challenge, actively engaging and inviting donors and community members to participate in fundraising and events, fostering a collaborative effort to secure essential funding for the ministry's programs and activities.
  3. Community Engagement and Network Building: Actively fosters and strengthens relationships with local donors by promptly addressing their inquiries, keeping them regularly informed about the organization's latest developments, and showcasing the impactful results driven by their donations.
  4. Program Development and Facilitation: Assisting in the creation and execution of effective recovery programs, including Ready Now Recovery Groups and Freedom Church Services. This involves planning, administration, and direct interaction with individuals in need.
  5. Training and Support for Staff and Volunteers: Providing essential training, support, and mentorship to staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.
  6. Resource Management: Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the community Office.
  7. First Point of Contact and Family Liaison: Acting as the initial point of contact for admissions, guiding individuals and their families through the application process, and offering ongoing support and communication.
  8. Coverage of other staff vacation and sick leave including those in other locations if need
Qualifications: 
  1. Educational Background:A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, or a related field would be preferred.
  2. Certifications:Certification or licensure in addiction counseling preferred (e.g., Certified Addiction Counselor). First Aid and CPR certification (willing to work to obtain) 
  3. Knowledge of Addiction and Recovery:In-depth understanding of addiction, recovery processes, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  4. Crisis Intervention Skills:Training and experience in crisis intervention, particularly in the context of addiction-related emergencies such as the Mental Health First Responder training (willing to work to obtain) 
  5. Cultural Competence:Awareness and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and social issues affecting addiction and recovery.
  6. Proactive and Self-Motivated: Exhibits a high level of self-drive and initiative, consistently demonstrating the ability to take charge of tasks without external prompting.
  7. Eagerness to Learn and Grow: Shows a strong willingness to learn new skills and concepts, coupled with a teachable attitude that values continuous personal and professional development.

Experiences: 
  • Experience in Addiction Services:
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working in addiction services, with a proven track record in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Community Outreach Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement and network building with various stakeholders including healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations.
  • Law Enforcement Collaboration:
  • Experience working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, particularly in roles that interface directly with police services, is highly advantageous.
  • Administrative and Leadership Experience:
  • Strong administrative skills including program planning, fundraising, resource management, and staff/volunteer training and supervision.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • Personal or Professional Experience in Mental Health:
  • Experience in mental health services, either personally or professionally, can provide valuable insights and empathy in dealing with individuals struggling with addiction.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability:
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and needs, and willingness to cover various roles as needed, including during staff absences.
