Airswift is seeking a Flange Management Specialist to work for an Oil & Gas client in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.

This role involves comprehensive support in flange management activities, including data management, QA/QC processes, and mechanical tasks related to piping systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical principles, experience with piping systems, and proficiency in managing large sets of data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of flange management plans.
  • Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of flanges on piping systems.
  • Ensure all flange connections are performed according to company standards and specifications.
  • Provide mechanical support for flange installation and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of flange connections and related equipment
Skills:
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly with piping systems and flange connections.
  • Proficiency in data management and experience with relevant software tools.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design and deliver Electrical systems for Heavy Industry Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
  • Contribute to design reviews and validation of various engineering designs and associated component selection suitable for application.
  • Providing technical guidance on all Electrical Engineering Systems related to works being carried out, ensuring compliance to relevant standards.
  • Develop technical specifications and scopes of work to meet project specific objectives.
  • Monitor, interpret, and stay up to date with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and directives applicable to our products and industry.
  • Resolution of technical issues related to electrical design, standards and/or compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into product development processes.

  • Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
  • Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities.
Skills, knowledge, & experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential)
  • Experience with development of electrical standards, processes and procedures.
  • Experience with Arc Flash Risk and management.
  • Experience with Functional Safety standard and compliance.
  • Experience with inverters, chargers and VSD with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous.
  • Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems.
  • Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence.
  • Results driven, responsible and accountable.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and International standards relevant to Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.

As aPrincipal Electrical Designer,you will be focusing onthe primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable electrical design on a for various sustaining capital projects. Large component of the scopes will have brownfield elements; strong design capabilities on brownfield projects is key.
The successful candidate is expected to be able to lead and coordinate the design deliverables, coordinate work amongst the team, ensure technical integrity of the deliverables and conduct work in line with company procedures. Not all roles on the project will require the individual to work in a lead capacity however ability to quality check and sign off on deliverables on behalf of the discipline is necessary.
Proven discipline project lead experience on brownfield projects is highly preferred.

  • Perform discipline specific design and drafting services such as:
ensure the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management process. prepare/assist and oversee the production of engineering drawings and documentation. ensure all drawings and documents are checked in accordance with Company checking procedures. work done is on time and within budget; and participate in project reviews as required.
  • Assist in scoping requirements and estimating design budget in response to requests for Lead Engineers.
  • Support the discipline in interviewing candidates for the project.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with the project Lead Engineers, other discipline design teams, Workshare team and Project Engineers/Managers on design progress, technical matters, workshare, and resource planning.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships within Company, with its clients and other.
  • stakeholders.
  • Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
  • Interface with the instrumentation and control discipline to complete design scope.
  • Where working in the capacity of the project design lead:
Initiate, manage and supervise, design and drafting assignments with the home office and Workshare team. Ensure technical integrity of the discipline’s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities. Provide technical direction, control and supervision for design on the project. Deliver the discipline’s design deliverables within schedule and budget. Manage quality and consistency within the discipline. Coordinate change control and technical query process within the discipline. Manage discipline resources assigned to the project. Report progress of discipline deliverables. Resolve discipline technical issues. Maintain discipline task and deliverables lists for the project. Coordinate design with other disciplines and squad checking deliverables. Motivate and manage the team’s performance, competency and develop staff within the group including the provision of on-the-job training. What you’ll have
  • A recognised design qualification (Advanced Diploma) in the relevant discipline or recognised Electrical trade qualification.
  • A decent relevant experience in designing and drafting with promising experience recently in resources (or closely allied) industry, BP preferred.
  • Proven lead role experience managing designers on multiple brownfield resources projects.
Essential:
  • Experienced, competent user of AutoCAD, Microstation (2D & 3D).
  • Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, PDF Exchange, Bluebeam.
  • Selection of electrical equipment (lighting & small power, control & wiring devices, enclosures).
  • Proven experience in designing electrical deliverables such as:
Single line diagrams – HV and LV Three-line Diagrams Schematics for panels such as incomers, feeders, VSDs and motor starters. Cable schedules. Material takes offs / BoM. Electrical equipment layouts. Switchroom layouts. Earthing layouts. Earthing diagrams. Key interlocking diagrams. Primary and secondary schematics. Termination diagrams. Panel general arrangements. Lighting and Small Power layouts. Preferred:
  • AVEVA 3D modelling packages, (PDMS, E3D).
