We are seeking motivated, hardworking Bin Erectors with experience in construction and/or agricultural construction at our new facility construction site in Winnipeg, MB.

Responsibilities

  1. Build and erect grain bins, erect steel structures and towers in our new grain facility.
  2. Review technical plans drawn by engineers and supervisors.
  3. Layout building components per project drawings, following technical specifications.
  4. Cut, position, and bolt down steel towers, erect using cranes, and reinforce older infrastructure.
  5. Responsibly and safely operate hand and power tools.
  6. Install and connect beams, columns, girts, purlins, baseplates, and gussets.
  7. Lay metal decking, install safety netting, and edge rails.
  8. Lift and guide components into position with machinery.
  9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Bin Erector.
  2. Capability of reading blueprints and working at heights/with cranes.
  3. Ticket in Aerial Work Platform and Fall Protection are required.
  4. Experience with pre-engineered steel structure erection.
  5. Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in bin erecting.
  6. Specific grain terminal or mill experience considered an asset.
  7. Experience in bin jacking and bin erection considered an asset.
  8. Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License & transportation to and from site required.

A background check consisting of criminal record and professional references will be conducted. The successful applicant will be required to pass the background check to the satisfaction of PGF prior to offer of employment.
