Title: SAP Project Manager

Hourly Pay Range: $65-$85/hour

Location: Markham, ON (2x per week on-site)

Contract: 6-12 months (expected to move to Full Time)

We are looking for an Intermediate IT Project Manager to lead projects in its SAP Program, specifically in the Metering and Billing space on regulatory and compliance related projects. The role will be accountable for the planning and delivery of assigned projects and managing the various activities and workstreams that are being started this and next year. The PM will work closely with the relevant Portfolio/Program Manager, SAP Architecture Lead and other leads that will be involved as the program progresses. The PM will lead projects that are both agile and waterfall in nature.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle to initiate, plan, implement, realize project outcomes
  • Deliver project deliverables and activities as part of a customer focused Program Delivery Group
  • Manage cross-functional teams in a matrix management framework and drive all project phases
  • Establish the project governance structure and methodology in accordance with the overall program governance structure and delivery methodology
  • Manage and maintain MS Project Plans, develop action plans, maintain logs and track issues, action items, risks and mitigation plans, escalations and make recommendations as necessary
  • Lead, build, champion and drive the cultural adoption of agile-based delivery (as necessary)
  • Execute, and coach the various agile ceremonies, work methods and practices to product/project teams including, backlog refinement and planning, sprint planning and retrospectives, sprint and story estimations and agile project resource planning
  • Build collaborative partnerships with project sponsors and teams to enable resource demand planning, change management, and project planning decisions
  • Manage and report on project metrics including progress, earned value metrics, baseline, forecast and actual dates, costs and scope.
  • Prepare project status reports for Project Control Office review and approval. Review project and project status files for integrity, accuracy and timeliness
  • Create & maintain a project library and coordinate the collection and filing of project documentation
  • Design, develop or coordinate the use of project facilities, ensuring that technical and physical resources are available to meet project requirements
  • Negotiate contracts, and contract changes/ change orders, as required to meet project objectives
  • Develop a comprehensive communication plan to project teams, key stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Develop project KPI's and monitor performance to ensure that the projects deliver on time & budget
  • Establish and manage project financials, and all aspects of project service delivery with third party vendors Collaborate with other IM/IT areas in the application of standards, methodologies, architectures, etc.

Managerial Accountabilities:

  • Manage and motivate staff and contractors on projects to deliver within various types of project methodologies.
  • Ability to lead and moderate large cross-functional teams to safely, reliably, cost effectively and efficiently execute project scope
  • Ensure resources deliver desired results within budget and schedule.
  • Negotiate and influence behaviour of vendors and service providers to achieve desired results.
  • Communicate and translate Strategies and direction to staff, contractors and vendors to align project objectives in achieving goals within the Strategy
  • Build team alignment amongst staff, contractors and vendor personnel with diverse backgrounds many of whom will be working together for the first time, during the duration of a project.
  • Demonstrate business acumen by translating technical options into business objectives.
  • Resolve technical, business and personnel issues; escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner to supervisors.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or Finance.
  • MBA, PMP & Agile certifications would be an advantage
  • 6 - 8 years of relevant, hands-on experience with SAP, particularly with SAP ISU (Billing, CRM, Device Management, FICA)
  • Minimum two full lifecycle implementations
  • Extensive knowledge of the relevant SAP Product Suite.
  • Proven capability of agile methodologies, work practices and toolsets
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and best practices

Demonstrated Management Skills:
