This role requires someone with exceptional project management skills, technical background, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure the successful launch of new products. This will be an opportunity to shape a new function as we build up this group within the Solace organizationKey Responsibilities:Manufacturing:Oversee the transition of new products from prototype to production, including pilot runs and production ramp-up. Facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the product development team and our manufacturing partners, including design and testing documentation, and assembly instructions. Ensure that manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment are ready for production and that any issues are addressed promptly. Oversee the set up and organization of internal manufacturing capabilities, experience with SMT lines and inventory management will be key assets to executing in this area. Project Management and Collaboration:Lead and manage NPI projects from concept through to production, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and meeting quality standards. Serve as the primary point of contact between the product development team and our manufacturing partners, ensuring clear and effective communication. Quality Assurance:Implement quality control procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and performance standards. Collaborate with the design and quality teams to identify and resolve any quality issues that arise during the NPI process. Supply Chain Coordination:Work with the supply chain team to ensure that materials, components, and suppliers are in place and meet the required specifications and timelines. Coordinate the procurement of prototype quantities of development designs, acting as the interface to rapid prototyping facilities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, product development, project management, or a related role in the hardware industry. Proven track record of successfully managing NPI projects from concept to production. Strong technical knowledge of hardware product development, manufacturing processes and quality control principles. Proven ability to manage projects, including timeline management, resource allocation, and risk assessment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding solutions. Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools and hardware product certifications is considered an asset.
