We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to oversee fund operations and private reporting for a leading private equity group. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role will require exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and strategic oversight of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present Financial Results :
    Deliver quarterly financial and operational updates to senior management, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Manage Fund Operations :
    Oversee all aspects of fund operations, including investment closings, liquidity management, compliance, and responding to investor inquiries.
  • Lead Financial Reporting :
    Ensure accurate preparation and review of quarterly financial statements under US GAAP, along with tracking key fund and investment performance metrics.
  • Monitor Investor Schedules :
    Review and maintain investor commitment schedules (PCAP) and available capital commitments on a regular basis.
  • Oversee Valuations :
    Supervise quarterly valuation processes for fund investments, ensuring thorough review and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Service Providers :
    Work closely with external service providers to guarantee timely and precise reporting to investors.
  • Streamline Reporting Processes :
    Drive continuous improvements to reporting workflows and establish best practices for new funds.
  • Audit Coordination :
    Lead internal and external audit preparations, maintaining comprehensive control documentation and addressing audit queries.
  • Support Tax and Legal Reviews :
    Oversee accounting packages, including tax financials, and analyze the implications of fund structures on cash flows and consolidations.
  • Handle Complex Accounting Issues :
    Provide expertise on resolving intricate accounting matters, including structuring for new acquisitions.
  • Manage Capital Transactions :
    Oversee the preparation and execution of capital calls and distributions to investors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coach and Develop Team :
    Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional development and a high-performing team environment.
  • Lead Special Initiatives :
    Participate in special projects and handle ad hoc requests to support strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • At least seven years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, ideally within private funds or investment management.
  • Strong understanding of fund operations and complex ownership structures.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, driving results and professional growth.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Excel, with a focus on process efficiency.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
