POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Accountant, or high level Bookkeeper to join our diverse team based out of our Saskatoon or Birch Hills office. In this position, you will work within the company’s accounting operations to assist the financial team with maintaining the integrity of the company’s business operations. This person will have an important role in this team and must be willing to take ownership of the position and accountability with the work completed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within Flyer Electric’s financial processes and systems
  • Communicate financial metrics to the senior management team
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statement, margining, accounts receivable and accounts payable, budget to actual variance analysis, WIP report, as well as others as required by management
  • Timely completion and accurate recording of all transactions
  • Completion of bi-weekly payroll, including RRSP and Benefits submissions
  • Regularly monitor the inputs and outputs affecting cash inflows and outflows including monitoring bank balances and preparing cash forecasts
  • Assist with the year-end close process and oversee the delivery of all supporting information for the corresponding year-end review
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts and monitor on a continual basis
  • Assist with the management and tracking of inventory
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and requirements including completing all government remittances including GST, PST, source deductions and corporate tax installments
  • Maintain a professional image and a high level of service with customers and co-workers during all contact, displaying positive behaviour, attitude, and work habits

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Experience with WIP reports and job costing
  • Strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient
  • Flawless attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Exhibit a track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision-making
  • Excellent multitasking and time management capabilities
  • Adeptness with technology
  • Able to work individually, as well as part of a team environment
  • Advanced computer and technology proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sage, and Payworks

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years experience of related financial/accounting experience
  • Experience in the construction industry is considered essential
  • Well versed in SAGE 50 is required
  • Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance would be an asset but not essential
  • Maintain a clean driving and drug and alcohol clearance
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide clear criminal records check
  • Office based position; typical office hours
