What You Will Do...

You will support people with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes and participate in the community as independently as possible. You will support people to be active participants in their own lives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Being a role model and companion while assisting with life skills and recreation and leisure activities
  • Supporting people to achieve their dreams and goals and explore new opportunities
  • Assisting with day-to-day household management
  • Supporting people with medication administration, lifting, transferring, and physical supports
  • Providing emotional support and personal care

What you will need in addition to being a positive, fun-loving, team player...

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
  • Emergency First Aid, CPR
  • A Criminal Record Check inclusive of the Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs/ 18.5 kg without an accommodation
  • Must be able to attend two full days of orientation (8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
  • Must be computer literate

Experience in any of the following would be an asset: support to people with developmental disabilities, health care, child and youth care, and or mental health support.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Permanent

Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

  • supporting people with developmental disabilities: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence and access to a vehicle (required)
