Calgary Co-op is seeking a passionate and driven individual for the position of Concierge based in one of our food centre. This successful candidate will be responsible for creating lasting memories for any event or special occasion that Calgarians may have throughout the year by providing inspirational recommendations, support, and ordering of consumable goods for customer events, inclusive of all lines of business within Calgary Coop and its subsidiaries. You will also be providing input into the strategic initiatives and role development.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engage with members to understand their requirements to bring events together and create lasting memories.
  • Understand specific requirement that will ensure members events are brought to life.Inclusive of all lines of business, including subsidiaries of Calgary Coop.
  • Assist customers with placing orders for events, arrange delivery services as required, and collect payment.
  • Collaborate with Center Manager/department manager on specific timing and coordination to ensure readiness of requirements.
  • Follow up with customers on satisfaction levels and investigate opportunities for further improvements.
  • Provide meal planning services to help families plan menus to meet their individual goals, for their event(s)
  • Cater to specific member needs for events such as, but not limited to, planning for food sensitivities, easy to follow nutritional guides, meal planning, holiday menu planning etc.
  • Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan(s) and development action plan(s).
  • Assists in ensuring the workplace is safe in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Food Safety procedures, legislation and policies including participate in HSE activities, assist in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and corrective action is taken.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exceptional listening skills and excellent business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact, establish and maintain good rapport with all stakeholders
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work all retail hours of operation
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to problem solve and network for job efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and influencing skills
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in event planning
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a unionized environment
  • Bilingual or multilingual
  • Have experience and / or be a champion of change management.
  • Post-secondary degree.
