Position - Senior UX Designer

Location - Quebec, Ontario

We are looking for an experienced UX Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Sr UX Designer will work closely with the Game director to help shape the creation and development of the game design direction for the next generation of games. They will develop and design user experience rules, menu flows and accessibility guidelines that translate the vision into a playable experience. They will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment to ensure the delivery of high quality features with the consumer needs always at the forefront.

Direction

The Senior UX Designer will report to the Production Director.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Game director to shape the game design direction and break down direction into a clear set of features, deliverables and tasks.
  • Develop the user experience vision for the game with a focus on user interfaces, menu flows, accessibility and social interactions
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes through all stages of production to create great player experiences.
  • Work in a cross-functional team and act as a regular liaison within that team as well as with management and other creative and technical co-leads to ensure the cohesiveness of the work.
  • Communicate design through multiple means to effectively ensure that gameplay intentions and work to be done are understood by all team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive UX designer experience with at least one shipped title in that field.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles
  • Understanding and experience in effectively incorporating user data and metrics into design.
  • Excellent ability to organize and structure his/her own work and communicate effectively with a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working as UX designer on at least one title.
  • Experience designing and working on a live service game with an understanding of design best practices for games as a service.
  • Good knowledge of all aspects and dependencies of UX, UI, accessibility and social systems
  • Knowledge with Data Visualization tools

Rôle et Responsabilités

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le directeur du jeu pour façonner la direction du jeu et décomposer la direction en un ensemble clair de fonctionnalités, de livrables et de tâches.
  • Développer la vision de l'expérience utilisateur pour le jeu en mettant l'accent sur les interfaces utilisateur, l’organisation de menu, l'accessibilité et les interactions sociales
  • Traduire les concepts en expériences d'utilisateurs, visualisations, maquettes et prototypes à toutes les étapes de la production pour créer des expériences de joueur exceptionnelles.
  • Travailler avec une équipe interdisciplinaire et agir en tant que point de contact régulier au sein de cette équipe ainsi qu'avec la direction et d'autres co-responsables créatifs et techniques pour assurer la cohésion du travail.
  • Communiquer la conception du jeu par de multiples moyens pour s'assurer efficacement que les intentions de jeu et le travail à faire sont compris par tous les membres de l'équipe.

Expérience et compétences requises

  • Vaste expérience en tant que concepteur UX avec au moins un titre livré dans ce domaine.
  • Bonne compréhension des principes UX/UI
  • Compréhension et expérience de l'intégration efficace des données utilisateurs et métriques dans la conception.
  • Excellente capacité à organiser et structurer son propre travail et à communiquer efficacement avec un public diversifié.

Qualifications préférées

  • Expérience de travail en tant que concepteur UX sur au moins un titre.
  • Expérience en tant que concepteur de jeu sur un jeu en ligne avec une compréhension des meilleures pratiques pour ces types de jeux
  • Bonne connaissance des principes d’'UX, d’'interface utilisateur, d'accessibilité et de systèmes de jeux axés sur le social
  • Connaissance de divers outils de visualisation de données
