Moodie Mair Walker LLP is a litigation law firm located in downtown Toronto. We have an immediate opening for a senior legal assistant to join our firm to support a partner with an active litigation practice.Responsibilities:Drafting/Preparing and proofreading correspondence;Drafting/Preparing and assembling of civil court documents;Filing legal documents with civil courts (including CaseLines);Edit/revise monthly accounts;Manage calendar/schedule meetings, appointments, motions and travel itineraries;Opening and closing of files;Collaborate with firm staff;Provide backup support for staff absences where needed;Maintain an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents;Develop and maintain professionalism with staff;Requirements:Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure;Strong communication skills;Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills;Experience with Soluno, Worldox and Primafact an asset;Ability to become familiar with firm-specific styles and document expectations;Strong organizational and problem solving skills;Strong multitasking abilities with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment;Willingness to learn;Experience with CaseLines;Exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal skills;Completion of a legal assistant or law clerk diploma;3-5 years’ Canadian experience in the civil litigation industry.This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy downtown civil litigation law firm with interesting work in a pleasant work atmosphere.
