TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE - Remote / WFH

We are working with a well-established (50 year) and growing company that focuses on thermal, chemical, and abrasion protection products. Vertically integrated company with multiple manufacturing facilities producing highly technical products for industries such as metal refractories, power generation, aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, environmental protection, robotics, welding, transportation, and other heavy industries. They also produce high temp. cements and adhesives, molded and many other value-added products/finished goods.

Due to growth, the company is looking to expand their sales team with a focus on North America, but also globally. They offer a competitive base salary plus commission, full benefits, car allowance, etc. 

This is a remote/WFH position that will involve travel throughout the US, Canada, and potentially outside of North America – must be based near a major airport. The primary focus is on new business growth, focused on obtaining new customers. The salesperson will utilize deep knowledge of high temperature materials and material science to solve complex problems, recommend products and provide custom solutions to customers. The salesperson will provide technical consultation and support to customers before, during, and after the sale.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales by winning profitable business with new customers
  • Identify new business prospects within current and new industries
  • Develop and deliver sales proposals, quotations and contracts that address customer requirements
  • Follow up on sample orders and quotes to customers, obtain feedback, and report to management
  • Qualify internet and website leads for follow-up
  • Follow-up on leads provided by marketing and customer service
  • Travel to major accounts to maintain the relationship. Provide support and assistance on new projects
  • Generate sales call reports and submit them to Management/Inside Sales
  • Attend trade shows domestically, (and potentially abroad), pertinent to accounts and industries
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Product Development and Estimating Teams to achieve sales targets and objectives

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of technical aspects of high temperature textiles and material science
  • Ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to analyze customer needs, market conditions and sales data
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support
  • Ability to manage multiple sales projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness and desire to continuously learn about new products, technologies, and market trends
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing customer needs and market conditions

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel and live near a major airport
  • History of successful business development
  • Broad account experience in relevant industries
  • 5+ years of technical/high temperature textiles sales. Coated/laminated textiles or nonwovens, protective and other heavy industry textiles, etc. sales experience will also be considered
  • MS Office Suite and ERP skills/knowledge, CRM (such as Salesforce) is a plus
