Old Toronto, Canada FTI Consulting, Inc Full time
Senior Consultant | Mergers, Integrations & Carve-Outs | Corporate Finance & Restructuring

FTI Consulting is the world’s leading expert-driven consulting firm. Over the last 40 years, FTI Consulting experts have served as the trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies and the world’s leading law and private equity firms when they are facing their greatest opportunities and challenges. Our strong performance and continued success are a direct reflection of the ambition, energy, and commitment of our talented professionals across the globe to make a positive impact for our clients and communities.

At FTI Consulting, you’ll be inspired and empowered to make an impact on headline matters that change history. Working side by side with the world’s leading experts in your field, you’ll be surrounded by an open collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and most importantly, you.

Are you ready to make an impact?

About the Role

Our Canadian MICO (Mergers, Integrations, & Carve-Outs) team helps our clients across the entire life cycle by bringing our on-point industry and deal expertise to provide extensive support prior to, during and after the deal to guarantee the best possible outcomes. Buyers and Sellers rely on our expertise to drive value and ensure success across each step of the transaction lifecycle – starting from the deal strategy (revenue and cost synergy analysis, standalone cost modeling, operational due diligence), through ensuring a successful deal closing (Day 1 readiness, target operating model, synergy capture design and Transaction Management Office) and into post-Close value creation (separation execution, synergy delivery, and business transformation). Our services provide a full view of the strategic, financial, operational and commercial considerations facing our clients and they look to us to guide them and manage the day to day of the merger, integration, or divestiture.

What You'll Do

The Senior Consultant in the Mergers, Integrations, & Carve-Outs (MICO) Practice will work with clients in domestic and multinational companies across various and diverse industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with our clients and teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness at all stages of integrations and carve-outs
  • Help assess and identify integration opportunities and synergies
  • Carve out parts of the business and quantifying separation costs
  • Evaluate and validate EBITDA improvement opportunities by rapidly analyzing data and synthesizing hypotheses that result in growing the top line or reducing cost
  • Facilitate and execute functional integration and carve-out work streams
  • Assist the client teams through the process lifecycle (current state, interim/desired state) and operating model development and optimization

How You'll Grow

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance and expand your background across mergers, integrations, and carve-outs and engagement management and project delivery, while also gaining valuable management and developmental experience. You will have the opportunity to partner with our internal teams and diverse clients across various industries and continue to grow in new and complex functional areas and technologies.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Informational Systems, Economics, or related field of study
  • 3+ years of combined post-graduate professional experience
  • Relevant experience in a consulting or professional services firm
  • Prior experience in pre-and-post deal services (e.g., synergies, standalone costs, carve-out perimeter assessment, TSAs, integration and separation planning, value creation initiatives…)
  • Understanding of financial statements and corporate functions
  • Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills
  • Professional verbal and written communications with experience in report writing
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Fluency in French
