Position Overview
Baker Tilly RSG LLP is currently looking for an Accounting Co-op Student to join our Cold Lake team for a four-month, full-time work term from January 2025 through April 2025. The Accounting Co-op Student is responsible for providing entry level accounting and tax services and assistance. The incumbent will be providing support to our permanent team members on various tax and year-end compliance projects, including compilation, review and audit engagements and corporation and personal income tax returns.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Assistance with and preparation of compilation engagements, including preparation of adjusting journal entries, financial statements and corporation income tax returns.
  2. Assistance with and preparation of personal income tax, T4, WCB and T5 returns.
  3. Assistance with preparation of review and audit engagements.
  4. Assistance with and preparation of client bookkeeping.
  5. Supporting various projects and administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications

  1. 3rd or 4th year Accounting Co-op student.
  2. Completion of one or more financial accounting courses.
  3. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions independently within the scope of the position.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform more than one task concurrently.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  7. Completion of taxation courses an asset.
  8. Experience with any of Caseware, TaxPrep, Doc-it, QBO, Xero, Dext and/or Microsoft Office is an asset.

Setting
At Baker Tilly RSG LLP, we pride ourselves on our progressive and forward-thinking practices, employing a digital workflow that facilitates working seamlessly across locations. The Accounting Co-op Student will be required to work in-office. The incumbent may be required to travel occasionally for training and meetings and will be required to work overtime during the months of March and April.
