Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on and self-motivated Controller to join our automotive dealership client in Charlottetown, PEI.

As Controller, you will assume a pivotal role in the financial operations of the dealership, leveraging strategic insight to refine accounting practices for optimal execution, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This permanent role will report directly to the Owner and is ideal for an experienced strategic leader who thrives in the day-to-day, seeing their dedication and hard work making tangible business impacts in real time.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  • Manage and oversee full cycle accounting processes
  • Financial statements, ledgers, schedules, reporting
  • Cashflow forecasting and analysis
  • Account reconciliations and analysis
  • Inventory management and control
  • Costing and inventory related projects
  • Interdepartmental allocations
  • Enhance internal controls and develop new policies and procedures
  • Assist with audit and tax preparation
  • Staff management
Skills & Attributes for Success:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation is considered an asset
  • 5+ years relevant accounting experience with at least 3 years in a management role
  • Strategic leader with proven decision-making skills to propel business further
  • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams
