BioVectra Inc., a leading bio-science business, is seeking a skilled Quality Control Chemist to join our team in Charlottetown, PE, Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute advanced bioanalytical methodologies for the analysis of plasmid DNA and mRNA products using techniques such as Next-Gen Sequencing, Sanger Sequencing, UV-VIS, cIEF, gel electrophoresis, ELISA, qPCR, MS, and HPLC.
- Support analytical qualification/validation and method transfer activities, reviewing analytical validation data and contributing to protocol modifications, reports, and work instructions as required.
- Participate in incident programs, including OOS investigations and major incident investigations.
- Maintain accurate, real-time records of laboratory activities.
- Complete paperwork for material release, including status labels and certificates of analysis.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments, documenting these activities.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
- B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Two years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, including GC, HPLC, UV-VIS, CE-SDS, cIEF, SDS-PAGE, IEF, ELISA, qPCR, MS, and Western Blot is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with sanger sequencing or preparing NGS libraries is considered an asset.
- Experience with bioinformatics workflows and/or tools such as Basespace, Geneious, Snapgene, Clone Manager, etc. is considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Knowledge of cGMP guidelines.
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
