Consultant, Environmental Field Generalist

ERM is seeking a Field Generalist to join our Central Canada team in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The successful candidate will be competent with data collection and management and have experience with any of the following skillsets:
- Hydrometric monitoring
- Aquatic studies
- Monitoring programs in streams, rivers, and lakes involving:
- Water quality and quantity
- Sediment quality
- Biotic communities
The scientist/engineer will carry out data analysis, database management, and report writing. This posting is for a motivated, career-minded person who enjoys remote fieldwork and working independently. The position would include a Northern Allowance for the duration of employment in the Northwest Territories.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate and implement field programs.
- Compile, manage, and analyze data.
- Draft technical reports or sections of reports, including:
- Baseline studies
- Environmental monitoring
- Environmental permitting
- Impact assessments
- BSc in any scientific discipline.
- 2-3 years (3-5 years preferred) of experience organizing, managing, and executing field programs, including working in remote locations.
- Experience implementing field and data QAQC practices.
- Strong data management, graphical, and statistical interpretation skills (using the open-source program R or similar is an asset).
- Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Territorial regulations and guidelines is an asset.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet regulatory and client deadlines.
- Ability to travel and work in remote locations under a variety of seasonal conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health & Safety protocols.
- Enjoys working collaboratively and positively within a team setting, as well as working independently.
- Boating experience is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
