The Retail Department Manager will be given the unique opportunity to be a hands-on business unit operator within the Pete's Frootique & Fine Foods Halifax retail store The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit; someone looking to deliver our unique, on-trend products to our discerning clientele through a top-notch customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of management or supervisory experience in a food service environment
  • People management skills (strong leadership skills, organizational structure, communication, motivation, performance management, succession planning, etc.)
  • Product knowledge – Strong interest and knowledge of food and food trends
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and approach to business
  • Strong sense of creativity and proven ability to innovate
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service experience and ability
  • The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
  • Financially savvy: ability to meet and maintain high sales, wage targets, profitability, etc.
  • The ability to lead & control inventory counts, control food costs, manage waste

  • Computer skills including MSOffice, Time and Attendance management software, etc.
