The City of Beaumont is seeking a motivated and results-driven Human Resource Advisor who excels at fostering strong relationships, creating and promoting meaningful programs, and setting the standard for excellence. What YOU’RE Responsible for:

As the Human Resources Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that HR initiatives align with the City's goals. You will:

  1. Talent Attraction & Retention: Lead the recruitment lifecycle, from active sourcing to selection, onboarding, and retention strategies. Champion employee programs, including grants, internships, wellness, and development initiatives. Facilitate key touchpoints such as exit interviews and onboarding check-ins to ensure a smooth employee journey.
  2. Employee/Labour Relations: Provide guidance and support to managers in proactively addressing employee concerns, conducting conflict resolution, and facilitating workplace investigations to mitigate potential risks. Offer expertise in managing sensitive issues, helping to maintain a fair and consistent approach across teams. Guide performance coaching efforts to promote continuous improvement, encourage open communication, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment that aligns with organizational values.
  3. Job Evaluation & Design: Oversee the job evaluation process for your client group and support the design of roles to meet evolving organizational needs. Conduct research and jurisdictional scans to recommend best practices and contribute to a well-structured workforce.
  4. Performance Review Program: Coordinate the performance review process, ensuring consistency and alignment across teams. Create and foster collaborative relationships with client groups on managing performance and provide recommendations to enhance performance. Partner with managers to facilitate meaningful development plans and provide coaching on effective feedback conversations.
  5. Disability Management: Guide managers through the disability management process, serving as a liaison between insurance providers, employees, and the organization. Support successful employee return-to-work plans with a focus on well-being and productivity.
  6. Generalist Duties & Compliance: Promote HR programs to create a positive and efficient work environment. Educate staff on programs, policies, maintain accurate personnel records, and provide management with guidance on various HR matters. Lead the offboarding process and conduct exit interviews to capture valuable insights. Participate in special projects and events, such as recruitment initiatives and company-wide celebrations, to foster a strong sense of community and engagement.
  7. Training and Facilitation: Collaborate in the design and assist in facilitating training sessions focused on employee development, compliance, and effective communication. Lead onboarding sessions to welcome new hires, assess ongoing learning needs, and coach managers on performance management best practices.

  5. Expertise in navigating complex HR challenges while ensuring compliance and best practices.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
Experience:
  1. A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience, including at least 3 years in a Generalist capacity.
  2. Proven experience in recruitment, employee/labour relations, program management, and compliance.
  3. Experience in facilitation and presentation skills, with a background in delivering training sessions, workshops, or presentations to various audiences is an asset.
  4. Demonstrated coaching abilities, supporting leaders in developing their teams and fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
