Job Description

The Opportunity: As a Senior Data Science Engineer, you will take a leading role in designing and delivering AI/Advanced Analytics solutions in cloud-based production environments to business; be accountable for delivering business value with data by focusing on key corporate objectives, including portfolio optimization, expense efficiency, growth acceleration, digital customer leadership, fraud detection, and high-performance of the team. The ideal candidate would have experience in implementing Analytics solutions in finance, health and/or investment organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Domain expert to leadership for technical guidance around data and AI/ML solution design and standard methodologies.
  • Design, develop and deploy AI/ML solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Integrate AI/ML solutions with enterprise applications and business processes.
  • Responsible for MLOps, DevOps toolchain and Continuous Development, Continuous Integration and Automated Testing using Jenkins.
  • Provide guidance on analytics concepts for broader advanced analytics group, and inspire adoption of advanced analytics, data engineering and data science across the organization.
  • Present findings, share insights, and make recommendations that impact sales; and communicate results in written, oral and presentation formats.
  • Innovate ways to source and use data to support modeling efforts applying structured and unstructured data; and big data technologies.
  • Work with multi-functional distributed team members to identify and prioritize practical, high-impact insights across a variety of core business areas.

What we are looking for:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Information system, Mathematic, Statistics, Economy, Finance, etc.).
  • Advanced experience with PowerBI, Salesforce, MLFlow, GitHub (ideally with co-pilot).
  • Familiar with distributed computing frameworks (e.g. Spark), cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, AzureML, Databricks), containerization, and analytics libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy, matplotlib).
  • Experienced with developing APIs or web application development.
  • Strong sense of ownership and superb problem-solving capability.

Primary Location: Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between: $92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
