Job Description

Manulife is looking for an experienced lawyer for a 1-year contract to join our Insurance - Group Benefits Legal Team.

You will have the opportunity to provide legal support for our business across Canada, including:

  • Advising on impacts of laws across the country and providing legal expertise to our life and health insurance business,
  • Drafting and negotiating key strategic contracts with our plan sponsors and vendors,
  • Supporting the development of digital-focused and customer centric insurance products,
  • Collaborating with business partners to support our business objectives,
  • Handling legal risk – considering our unique business needs and innovative legal solutions,
  • Creating and developing templates, playbooks and processes.
  • Advise in insurance, corporate commercial, digital, privacy, data, cyber, technology and health law.

Working in a collaborative environment and engaging in a diverse practice.

You are a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario or another province of Canada.

You have 5-15 years proven experience.

Location: Hybrid – minimum 3 days a week in one of our Canadian offices (Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, Waterloo)
