Role Summary:

Pure Industrial is seeking a finance professional who will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial reporting. The Senior Corporate Accountant will impact the success of the Finance team with a particular focus on owning in full the G&A processes and functions, treasury functions and process improvements.

The ideal applicant will be a self-starter and a confident individual who possesses excellent time management & organization skills, a strong sense of ownership and has an analytical mindset. They will be a strong team player and embrace the opportunities to “roll up their sleeves” and “think outside the box”. Verbal and written communication skills are essential as the candidate will work directly with members from our Finance team and Senior Management on input and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and post the journal entries related to corporate G&A, including IT expense accruals.
  2. Analyze monthly corporate G&A expenses and ensure the completeness of such expenses.
  3. Update corporate G&A model on a monthly basis.
  4. Prepare monthly G&A reporting and variance analysis by department, expense type and portfolio for the Senior Leadership Team.
  5. Prepare quarterly G&A reporting for Investors.
  6. Perform expense reclass from corporate expense to the properties based on the expense type and allocation methodology.
  7. Perform monthly property management fees reconciliation and assist with submitting the invoices to Accounts Payable.
  8. Complete monthly G&A allocation and prepare the invoices for AP processing.
  9. Prepare the bi-annual G&A budget and reforecast; liaising with the department heads and updating the department schedules.
  10. Monitor and oversee bank account services, including bank account administration for opening and closing accounts, as well as know-your-client requests from financial institutions.
  11. Perform treasury administration such as new profile creation, modifying permissions etc.
  12. Assist with the preparation of the wire transfers, tax and bill payments, wire payments, ensuring the transactions have appropriate documentation and authorization.
  13. Perform bank reconciliation of the corporate operating accounts.
  14. Monitor cash transactions to ensure bank account balances and unusual items are investigated.
  15. Prepare monthly cash balances tracker.
  16. Support ad-hoc and special projects, as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Professional accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CGA, etc.).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in similar role or public accounting role.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage work.
  • Self-starter who will take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Fast learner, able to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize deliverables.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skill set.
  • Knowledge of intercompany transactions and consolidation is preferred.

Knowledge of Yardi software is an asset.
