Work schedule:

The successful candidate would be required to work days and evenings on weekdays and weekends as required. The successful candidate must also be available for on-call nights during weekdays and weekends. The schedule may change based on departmental needs.

Compensation:

UOPS 07

Range: $36.84 - $50.24

Responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently in a core lab setting in the disciplines of Specimen Collection and Processing, Hematology, Chemistry and Transfusion Science make you the perfect candidate for this position. 
  • The successful candidate enjoys working in a team-orientated environment, and has excellent technical, communication, leadership and customer service skills. 
Requirements
  • Member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
  • General Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from the CSMLS.
  • Experience in a core laboratory setting including phlebotomy skills and ECG are assets.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Experience with a Laboratory Information System.
  • Meditech experience is ideal.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic multi-tasking laboratory.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Laboratory Accreditation Requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work well within a team and take leadership role when called upon.
  • Strong customer service focus and job commitment.
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional outlook in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
