The Senior Consultant, Data Governance is accountable for providing leadership and consultation on the development, analysis and implementation of process changes or other activities which support our partners achieve their strategic objectives while achieving compliance with the data management policies and standards. You will proactively analyze and recommend enhancements to existing business processes; clearly communicate rationale and negotiate solutions which will enhance data and operational effectiveness. You will ensure that all assigned initiatives are implemented in an effective manner and will participate in meetings to answer questions as the data management and records management subject matter expert.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide Leadership and Guidance on data management and governance initiatives for Technology, Infrastructure and Innovation (TI&I). Responsible for data governance oversight to ensure the execution of business initiatives as well as projects affecting TI&I applications and the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of data governance activities to ensure that TI&I remains in compliance.
• Roll out Data Governance framework with a focus on data quality improvement and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to processes, principles, governance metrics, related tools and data architecture.
• Liaison between TI&I business units and the Enterprise Data and Records Management Office, to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning. Ensure accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets in accordance with Enterprise Data Governance policies.
• Collaborate & Facilitate with partners to complete Data Custody Agreements (DCA’s) and Data Sharing Risk Assessments (DSRA’s) where required. Support the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across TI&I.
• Performance and Quality Metrics managed in collaboration with Lead Data Stewards and Data Stewards to ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities and adoption requirements.
• Monitor adherence to data policies and standards across Infrastructure to ensure availability of high-quality data, consultative and subject matter expertise, ensuring all users of data understand policies, procedures and standards.

How you’ll succeed:

• Data Management - Experience with data management and data governance principles and practices, including but not limited to: Business Glossary, Metadata Management, Data Quality Assessment, Data Issue Management and Data Access Management.
• Change Initiatives – Knowledge and experience with data centric change initiatives (data migration, data transformation, data analysis and insights) is an asset.
• Enhance existing business processes – finding solutions using business analysis and process engineering
• Improve - Strong continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for operational enhancements and process efficiencies.
• Strong work ethic and delivery focus.
• Relationship Management skills with ability to work with a range of stakeholders with different levels of seniority and backgrounds.
