Our Client, a successful concrete Contractor seeking experienced and business-minded Project Coordinator / Layout Engineer for a large RC frame mixed use project in Vancouver.

The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team. Responsible for assisting in delivering construction projects of varying size and complexity. Focusing on structural works including formwork, concrete foundations and suspended slabs, rebar and architectural structures etc. The Project Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, organizing and controlling project locates, documents, and files under the direction of a Project Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Capable and can bring some of their own experience and ideas
  • Pour tracking, how much concrete has been poured on a day to day basis and calculating the contact m2
  • Setting out and preparing project locates as required
  • Creating and maintaining RFI’s
  • Creating and maintaining PO numbers,
  • Tracing deliveries and returns
  • Ensuring team meetings are conducted weekly/daily
  • Create, maintain, and deliver all project documents and files
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team
  • Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Project/Construction degree, relevant experience
  • 4+ years of experience supporting the delivery of projects
  • Concrete forming/placement experience required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products
  • Familiarity with construction methods and the building codes
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

Management Expectations:

  • Willing to take part in additional specialty training for tools, equipment, instruments, and safety.
  • Should be able to receive instructions and be left alone to complete the task in a timely and professional manner.
  • Clearly understand the job description and perform their responsibilities adequately.
