This role is crucial in supporting field operations through regulatory compliance, site remediation, and reclamation efforts. If you have a strong soil background and are qualified to sign off on spill reports, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:Work in a camp-based field environment, supporting production operations, water management, and drilling/completions teams.Foster a strong Health, Safety, Environment, and Regulatory Compliance culture by embodying our client’s values.Enhance regulatory and environmental performance by identifying concerns and proposing improvements.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative relationships.Manage domestic water sampling, water system cleaning, vegetation management, spill sampling/reporting, and erosion control programs. Provide professional recommendations, reports, and sign-offs when qualified.Collaborate with other professionals to ensure projects are executed to standard for professional sign-off.Participate in field and operational meetings, and provide training and support for field personnel on regulatory and environmental compliance.Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and company policies, and provide 24/7 on-call support for non-safety related incidents and emergency response.Support spill response activities, including field visitation, clean-up guidance, sampling, and reporting.Requirements:10-15+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas, with expertise in site remediation, spill response, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related discipline.Active Professional Designation in BC and qualification as a Qualified Professional in spill response, site assessment, remediation sampling/reporting, or erosion control.Professional liability insurance.Experience with BC Energy Regulatory (BCER) and other regulatory agencies in BC.Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license with a clean abstract.Commitment to a safety-first attitude.Schedule:Camp-based role in Northeast BC, with a 14/14 schedule. Flexibility for additional support may be required.
