Responsibilities:

  1. Perform structural analyses using NX NASTRAN and/or Altair suite of FEA tools
  2. Perform vehicle dynamics analyses using ADAMS
  3. Perform automotive performance analyses
  4. Research new CAE areas, products and methodologies and implement them
  5. Research new automotive technologies and evaluate their potential use products
  6. Perform test data analyses and simulation validations
  7. Work in small temporary project teams with other engineers and provide ongoing CAE support
  8. Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers

Required Qualifications:

  1. University degree in Engineering
  2. 1 to 3 years of related experience in CAE field, preferably in automotive, defense or aerospace industry
  3. Knowledge of CAE software applications for FEA, vehicle dynamics and automotive performance
  4. Knowledge of automotive subsystems
  5. Knowledge of stress analyses, mechanics, dynamics and mathematics
  6. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  7. Superior organizational skills with the ability to be agile, set priorities and multi-task under pressure
  8. Self-motivated and effective working in a team-oriented environment
  9. Ability to travel (10% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced University degree
  2. Familiar with NX NASTRAN, Altair suite of FEA tools, ADAMS, MATLAB, Hypermesh
  3. Experience with heavy off road vehicles engineering
  4. Experience dealing with defense design standards
  5. Knowledge of Glyphworks
  6. Professional Engineer (PEO) or eligible to become P.Eng.
