Accountant Sr. - Manufacturing

Our client is a leader in building innovative solutions in the Cooling Engineered Air Movement in the manufacturing industry. With its high attention to detail for products that are durable, maintenance free, energy efficient, and unparalleled in performance.

As a Sr. Accountant, you will contribute to the financial success and growth of the company by ensuring accurate financial reporting to support decision making, planning, and control processes. Under direction of the Controller, and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures the successful Sr. Accountant will have a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret financial data effectively, and the capacity to communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders within the organization.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Financial Reporting
  • Compile and analyze financial information for the preparation of general ledger entries.
  • Prepare analyses of account reconciliations and ensure proper controls of general ledger activity.
  • Perform month-end and yearly close procedures, including balancing and submitting financial information.
  • Act as a Sarbanes Oxley Auditor, assisting in internal and external audits and preparation of PBC schedules.
  • Provide financial support for forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.
  • Generate periodic ad hoc financial reports.
  • Cost Management and Control
  • Responsible for cost tracking, forecasting, and budgeting, including purchase price variance, absorption, and fixed and variable expenses.
  • Ensure accuracy of standard costs and establish labor and overhead rates.
  • Implement and monitor a highly accurate inventory management control system, including cycle counting and reconciliations.
  • Work with the Controller to establish and maintain a precise purchasing control system.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • Prepare appropriate data for monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax provisions.
  • Update and document accounting control procedures.
  • Assist with cross-training, development, and continual improvement of company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience in public and/or manufacturing accounting
  • Proficient in US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley / internal controls

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Prior experience in and understanding of accounting for a manufacturing company.
  • Cost accounting experience is a plus.
  • Effective organizational skills, including following up on his/her own needed actions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel including data management.
  • OneStream and/or SAP experience a plus.
  • Adept problem-solving skills and analytical ability

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

Working Environment

  • Onsite office environment, 8 am-5 pm Monday - Friday
  • The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours.
