Home and Community Care Support Services South East is one of 14 Home and Community Care Support Services organizations in Ontario with a focused mandate to deliver local health care services such as home and community care and long-term care home placement.
These organizations were previously known as Local Health Integration Networks (or "LHINs") at a time when they also led local health care planning and funding, and those functions are now part of Ontario Health.
Home and Community Care Support Services South East is dedicated to ensuring the ongoing delivery of local services while Ontario makes changes to improve the health care system to give patients better-connected care with health care providers working as one coordinated team in Ontario Health Teams.
The south east region extends from Brighton on the west, to Prescott and Cardinal on the east, north to Perth and Smiths Falls, and back to Bancroft. The boundaries are for funding and planning purposes only. Residents of the Home and Community Care Support Services South East can seek health care services wherever they prefer, inside or outside these boundaries.

As a Financial Analyst - Budgeting and Forecasting, you will collect, analyze and interpret the financial information for the annual budget as well as creating monthly financial forecasts for your assigned regions.
What will you do?
- Provide financial and analytical support to internal departments
- Compile and submit financial and statistical reports to internal and external partners
- Develop and provide ongoing maintenance of Home and Community Support Services South East Budget tools to ensure accurate, complete and timely budget templates are available by segregated funding envelope to Home and Community Support Services South East;
- Lead the development, training, interpretation, compilation and review of the annual Home and Community Support Services South East operational budget including all internal reporting needs;
- Be the first point contact through-out the year on all budget related queries from management
- Support Human Resources for salary and wages items
- Provide point-in-time information and reporting to management and staff as needed on expenditures and available budget
- Monthly updating the financial forecasting tools with the most current actual information including payroll, general ledger and client related (CHRIS) statistics and costs
- Report and make recommendations to senior management and the Financial Forecasting Committee (FFM) regarding potential/recommended adjustments to the overall Home and Community Support Services South East financial forecast
- Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare and submit (once approved) assigned financial and statistical reports such as program specific reports to the MOHLTC and other external partners
- Provide reporting and analysis on utilization and variances within Home and Community Care Support Services
- Update and analyze assigned account reconciliations and prepare the related monthly journal entries for approval
- Assist in preparing for the annual financial audit
- Liaise closely with the other departments to gather, compile and interpret relevant data needed for management and reporting purposes
What must you have?
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, accounting, economics or related field required
- Three (3) to five (5) years previous experience in accounting and financial analysis and/or forecasting;
- Knowledge of governmental/NPO finances and reporting requirements
- Appropriate knowledge of accounting, budgeting and forecasting programs and tools
- Current knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, processes and standards
- High degree of accuracy and superior keyboarding and data-entry skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals
- Very good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from wide-ranging cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

What would give you the edge?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent considered an asset
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards, preferred
- Familiarity with Financial administration in a unionized environment and office administrative procedures/concepts
