Instrumentation & Controls Specialist

Key Responsibilities:- Assures compliance with Engineering Procedures and quality control standards
- Participates in project audits (quality and technical)
- Support in the development of estimates for engineering work
- Interfacing with various engineering disciplines and suppliers
- Specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level), Control Valves, on/off valves, relief valves and control devices
- Preparing and reviewing IO lists and assignments
- Selection and procurement of controls hardware, communications, and network systems
- Preparing and checking Instrument Loop diagrams as well as System cabinet design / wiring
- Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
- Providing input to P&ID’s
- Design, development, and technical content of the I&C portion of project work
- Have frequent contact with vendors
- Plan, coordinate and prepare Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, and award recommendations for various equipment within instrumentation and controls
- Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelors in Science, Engineering from an accredited University or College
- Minimum of 5 + yrs. Industry experience
- Understanding and familiarity of API, ASME, CSA, AER and ISA codes and directives
- Experience in the oil and gas sector is preferred
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- Has the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) is an asset
- Registration through APEGA as a /. (ENG) is an asset
