We are looking for a personable Senior Service Advisor to act as the liaison between our customers and our service technicians. ABOUT THE COMPANY AND THE JOB:

Our client is a boutique automotive repair shop located in South Vancouver that’s been around for more than 30 years. For the past 7 years they’ve been voted the Best Auto Repair Shop in Vancouver by the Georgia Straight.

In an industry not always known for its ethics, they attribute their success to their transparency, honesty and value for service. Their loyal customers trust them and value quality and well-maintained cars.

They service a wide variety of car and light truck makes and models including lots of high-end luxury cars. Their shop is bright and very well equipped with modern tools and equipment. They have a great team of happy employees who love to have a laugh and are looking for someone who will fit in easily.

They are always striving to make things easier and do their job better, so they’ve built systems and procedures to ensure that all jobs are done efficiently, easily and consistently and they expect all their employees to contribute to our continuous improvement philosophy.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

As our Senior Service Advisor, your primary responsibility is to manage the day-to-day operations of the shop so clients are satisfied with their experience; technicians are meeting billable hour targets; and service appointments are consistently booked to capacity.

To do this successfully you’ll need the following skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of automobiles, typical breakdowns and how to maintain them as technology changes.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive parts for different makes of cars.
  • Workflow management of a similar sized repair shop.
  • People management.
  • Operational problem solving.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to balance client satisfaction with profitability.
  • Excellent financial skills with the ability to assess profitability through key performance indicators.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Sales skills with the ability to describe the benefits of our products and services so clients want it without ever feeling sold to.
  • Strong computer and software skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to laypeople and to translate symptoms to repair terminology.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to follow up on multiple concurrent questions and tasks without letting anything fall through the cracks.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license.
