The Opportunity:

 As an Engineering Student working with us, you’ll be part of our growing team, using your skills to design and partner on major Infrastructure projects in Canada. We are a team with planning, modelling and detailed design expertise, so you will have exposure to the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to construction. What you can expect to do here:

As part of the conveyance and infrastructure planning team, you can expect to:

•    Perform hydraulic modelling / civil design calculations for sketches, technical evaluations and similar technical work for a variety of projects, as required by assignment;
•    Investigate and undertake various studies using various software including infowater, watergems, infosewer, sewercad, ICM, PCSWMM, HECRAS and other software, and write reports relating to water network, storm water management, and wastewater collection system infrastructure;
•    Undertake a wide variety of engineering assignments related to the design of water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, flood protection works, and treatment plants, as required by assignment;
•    Assist in construction support services for design projects, including on-site inspection and support in contract administration, as required by assignment;
•    Assist in Proposal development;
•    Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers, including project management tasks; and
•    Other duties as assigned.:

What you’ll bring to WSP:

- Registered in Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering or related field at an accredited university;

- Some knowledge in hydrology and hydraulics applications, the design and analysis of storm water management facilities, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and watercourses systems;

- Interest in hydrologic/hydraulic modelling for storm and sanitary systems or Water system;

- Knowledge of one of the software packages: PCSWMM / INFOSWMM / InfoWorksCS / ICM, WaterCAD,MIKE 11, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS;

- Previous success in customer services, client management and proposal/report writing is an asset;

- Strong communication (written and verbal);

- Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders; and

- The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and willingness to learn.:

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $20.50/hr - $31.25/hr

WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location.
