Role Overview

Our client is looking for a highly motivated, hardworking Mechanical & Hydraulic Technician interested in working for a start-up with great advancement opportunities. If you have hands-on mechanical and hydraulic experience and you’re looking to grow with a leader in the maritime transportation industry, then you may be our next Mechanical & Hydraulic Technician.

Responsibilities
  1. Build, test & operate marine robotic systems
  2. Hands-on mechanical assembly of marine robotic systems
  3. Work with technologists, engineers & managers to achieve project goals
  4. Liaise with other disciplines as needed
  5. Monitor inventory levels and recommend purchases
  6. Deliver solutions that are fit for purpose and meet constraints
  7. Keep the mechanical shop neat, tidy, organized & stocked
  8. Champion safe shop practices and maintain a safe & efficient work environment
  9. International travel may be required
  10. Offshore work may be required
Requirements
  • College diploma or higher with focus on mechanical systems OR high school diploma and significant relevant work experience
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status
  • Sound knowledge of hydraulic circuit and mechanical assembly drawing conventions
  • Hands-on mechanical & hydraulic systems assembly skills
  • Mechanical & hydraulic systems troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of quality management such as standards, regulations, and applicable policies and procedures

  • High-pressure (>3,000psi) hydraulic circuits assembly and servicing
  • Light fabrication using power and hand tools
  • Electrical systems integration
  • Subsea systems
  • First aid
  • Forklift operation
  • Mechanical shop organization
