ROLE

This position will assist in the daily operations and coordination of projects within the Human Resources Department. The responsibilities include:

  1. Responding to general employee inquiries and redirecting to the appropriate member of the HR team
  2. Assisting with completion and distribution of employee correspondence
  3. Supporting the recruitment process by screening resumes, booking interviews, and facilitating communication between candidates, HR business partners, and hiring managers
  4. Collecting and inputting employee data into the HRIS; maintaining up-to-date information
  5. Setting up newly onboarded employees in our benefits and pension plan platforms, amending current employee records as needed
  6. Assisting with agendas, minutes, and booking meetings for HR-led events
  7. Performing general HR office duties as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

University degree or Community College Certificate in HR program or equivalent related post-secondary education preferred, or combination of equivalent education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

The ideal candidate should possess:

  1. Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in entry-level HR roles
  2. Exposure to benefits administration, onboarding of employees, and responding to employee inquiries
  3. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
  4. Ability to interpret collective agreements pertaining to pay elements, benefits, and seniority
  5. Excellent computer skills including creating and manipulating spreadsheets, charts, data presentation, and mail merges
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. High level of customer service skills
  8. Dedication to confidentiality and respect for employee privacy
  9. Commitment to continuous learning
  10. Ability to work well in a self-directed environment
  11. Organizational skills and ability to set priorities to meet targets
  12. Comfortable in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION

CHRP attained or in progress is an asset.

Location: This position is not remote and requires regular attendance at our Huntsville and Bracebridge locations.

Department: Human Resources

Hours of Work: Currently Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, subject to change as per organizational needs.
