Now with over 450 employees, we continue to deploy our own independent construction, fibre splicing, installation, network operations and support teams. Our services are delivered to over thousands of commercial and residential service addresses using Beanfield owned facilities.

Position Summary:

The Deployment Manager will report to the Director and General Manager of BC Operations and will be expected to coordinate resources from various teams to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget. The Deployment Manager will ensure all parties are updated at all times on the progress of all ongoing projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, manages and defines project scopes by developing detailed project plans, scheduling/estimating completion dates and providing updated status reports all within budget;
  • Ensures operational safety for projects;
  • Organizes resources to ensure all requirements are in place to complete projects from conception to completion;
    • Prepares project schedules and timelines.
  • Oversees construction projects from start to finish which includes: safety, design/permits, installation, fibre testing, budget and project closure;
  • Communicates clearly with internal and external stakeholders; hosting onsite and project meetings as required;
  • Organizes, tracks and ensures all materials are available in time for projects and installations;
  • Oversees material and inventory reporting;
  • Creates and tracks various project reports such as lifecycle, budget and progress;
  • Provides quotes and prepares budgets for all projects;
    • Tracks budgets and provides reports;
    • Negotiates contractor rates;
    • Reviews and updates budget processes.
  • Assigns individual tasks and leads the teams through the project;
    • Works closely with functional leads to build a culture of co-operation, team philosophy and focus on delivery of excellence;
    • Encourages all teams to communicate effectively and develop a culture of participation and involvement.
  • Administrative reporting and internal system updates:
    • Creates new projects on our project software program;
    • Creates account numbers in SAP and assigns budget amounts;
    • Creates reports in SAP to determine current spending;
    • Updates project milestones in JIRA or other software as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma and relevant post-secondary degree or diploma;
  • Experience in construction/facilities/engineering/telecom environment;
  • 2-4 years experience in a relevant role;
  • Experience with SAP and JIRA is an asset;
  • Must have a valid BC Driver’s License.
